Cook Time 15 minutes
Course Snack

Equipment

  • Kitchen towel
  • Baking sheet
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Pasta (Lasagna or Fettuccine) Choose your favorite shape!
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Or use another oil you like.
  • Salt To taste. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
  • Pepper To taste. Freshly ground pepper tastes best.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Adds a nice savory flavor. (or to taste)

Instructions

  • Cook your pasta according to the package directions, but stop cooking it a minute or two before it’s completely done. Drain the pasta well.
  • Spread the cooked pasta in a single layer on a clean kitchen towel or baking sheet. Let it air dry completely. This usually takes a few hours, or even overnight, depending on your kitchen’s humidity.
  • For faster drying, you can use a low oven. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting (around 200°F or 95°C). Spread the pasta on a baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes, checking frequently. Take it out when it's dry and firm. Don’t let it burn.
  • Baking your pasta chips at the right temperature is key. A high temperature (around 400°F or 200°C) helps them get crispy. Start checking after 10 minutes. Your chips are ready when they are golden brown and crispy. This usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
  • After your pasta chips are baked and cool slightly, it’s time to season them! Sprinkle your seasonings evenly over the chips. Use a light hand at first, then add more if needed. Toss gently to coat all the chips.
  • To keep your pasta chips crunchy, store them in an airtight container. This prevents them from getting soggy by keeping out moisture from the air.
